Dan Coppersmith

     Dan developed his deep appreciation for nature growing up in Emporium.  He migrated to northern Texas in 1980. 

    After spending many years as an engineer, Dan turned to his first love writing poetry.  When he needed photographs for his publication “The Elusive Here and Now”, Dan took out his own camera.  He spends more time capturing the beauty of the region in Texas at local parks and nature preserves than writing, but has  turned some of his more popular poetry into posters that grace the walls of offices and homes across the United States.  His search for unique photographs have taken him to Hawaii and Canada.
