Jack Northrop enjoys telling people he takes scrap
wood and gives it new life! His woodturning features
natural edges and turning the imperfections into works
of art.
Jack is a PA Wilds Juried Artist and some of his
pieces have been given to state officials. Each piece is
one of a kind and you will never find two alike!
Jack found his love for wood turning while making a
bedroom set 30 years ago. He wanted turned bedposts and
the experience hooked him. It was his daughter that
suggested he should sell his artwork and since retiring
and moving to Kane in the late 1990’s, he has made a
name for himself. His favorite species of wood are what
is found growing in the PA Wilds; black cherry, walnut,
maple, butternut locust and sumac.
