Theresa Tubbs

     Theresa is the face behind the Primitives Candles that you see at 14 retail locations throughout the United States.  Each candle is poured at her Galeton shop! 

           Theresa opened a store in Galeton in 1994 and when she had the opportunity to move into a storefront on Route 6 she knew she had to fill the larger space.  Now Hearts Desire has 95 vendors, selling antiques, artwork and new merchandise.

Five years ago the candle vendor decided to sell her business, and Theresa was not willing to lose the line of Primitive Candles and she became a candle maker.  Her husband spends the days tending to the store front. 

     When Theresa began making candles she had a notebook filled with recipes.  She makes more than 45 scents in tea lights, votives, tarts and jar candles.  She can find a complete listing at her website www.visitheartsdesire.com.   Or take a trip on Route 6 to Galeton and visit her in person at her shop!
